38 Citrix servers retired at Home Depot

The Home Depot moved 2,800 Mac users to the native app, retired 38 Citrix servers, and cut login to the first host screen from 90 seconds to 5. This was a native Mac migration, not a measured result for the browser gateway.

If a virtual desktop is there mainly to deliver a terminal, compare that with the native and browser deployment options.

How it is licensed

Desktop and Enterprise are priced per user. Enterprise covers the browser gateway according to the current plan. A person does not become an extra seat merely by using both desktop and browser; check your deployment against the pricing and licensing terms.

Questions

Is the browser gateway hosted by WND Terminal?

No. Your organization runs the gateway and controls its connection to the hosts and identity provider.

Do phones connect directly to a mainframe?

The phone opens the organization’s browser gateway. The gateway runs the host session and supplies the touch interface.

Is every feature identical on every platform?

Check the relevant platform and feature guides. For example, privileged-access enforcement runs on the gateway, not in native desktop sessions.

Is Free for a work computer?

Free is for one person on their own unmanaged computer. Use the team trial on a company-managed PC.
