### Airline ALC Terminal Emulator in WND Terminal

Open ALC agent-set sessions over MATIP type A and enter reservation requests in WND Terminal. The current profile supports ASCII and EBCDIC character coding.

### Supported terminals and connections

On a small screen, swipe the table to read all columns.

| System | Terminal | Connection | Where it runs | Current scope | Release |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Airline ALC host access](https://wndsoftware.com/airline-terminal-emulator) | P1024B ALC | MATIP type A | Windows, Mac, Linux | P1024B ALC reservation sessions over MATIP type A, with separate software-only device workflow examples. | v1.0.319 |

The ALC profile does not implement IPARS or padded Baudot coding. The virtual printer and reader route uses a WND Terminal test protocol; it does not establish IATA BTP, Epson AEA or physical device completion.

### What the sample does

The simulated airline host accepts the availability request A12OCTJFKLHR and returns a reservation response on the ALC screen. In a WND Software-guided proof of value, a separate workstation example routes virtual boarding-pass and bag-tag jobs plus a synthetic reader event.

### Connect to your host

Choose Airline host on the WND Terminal connect page, enter its address and the five-byte agent-set address your network team supplies. The default MATIP port is 350.

[Read the connection guide](https://wndsoftware.com/docs/other-terminals)

The software-host examples let you try these workflows now. WND Software checks your application workflows during a proof of value and addresses compatibility differences found.

### Move an existing session

Bring the host address, port, terminal type, key assignments and macros used by your team. Create a WND Terminal connection with the settings above, then run the actual screens and keys your application uses. Check the [session import guide](https://wndsoftware.com/docs/import-other-emulators) for supported source formats; the connection type alone does not prove that an old profile or macro can be imported.

### Check Airline ALC over MATIP against your application

Keep a working session profile and a repeatable test case. Compare what the application receives as well as what the terminal draws. Use the software-host examples as a starting point, then record the results on the actual host before a rollout.

On a small screen, swipe the table to read all columns.

| Application check | What to verify |
| --- | --- |
| Obtain the agent-set address | Use the five-byte address supplied by the network team. Record the host and configured MATIP endpoint alongside the existing workstation settings. |
| Confirm character coding | The current profile supports ASCII and EBCDIC coding. Compare known reservation text and nonalphabetic symbols against the existing client. |
| Use a safe reservation inquiry | Begin with a read-only availability request and fictional test data. Record which host actions are permitted in the acceptance test. |
| Separate terminal and device tests | The virtual printer and reader example uses a WND Terminal test protocol. It does not establish IATA BTP, Epson AEA or physical boarding-pass and bag-tag completion. |
| Check unsupported coding needs | IPARS and padded Baudot are outside the current ALC profile. Identify such requirements before choosing this connection path. |

Bring the host address, selected terminal type, keyboard map and the steps that reproduce a problem to a [proof of value](https://wndsoftware.com/proof-of-value). Distinguish a simulated sample from a customer-host result in the test record. See [supported systems and profile limits](https://wndsoftware.com/supported-systems) for the current release scope.

### Keyboard and host workflow

An airline ALC session needs the correct agent-set identity as well as a reachable MATIP endpoint. Obtain the five-byte agent-set address from the network team and record the character coding used by the current workstation. Test a read-only reservation or availability request before introducing any workflow that changes bookings. Compare the complete request and response, including the action keys the agent uses to move between screens.

### When a screen or key behaves differently

Keep network admission, terminal display and workstation peripherals as separate tests. A reservation response establishes neither boarding-pass printing nor reader compatibility. If a request fails, capture the agent-set configuration, endpoint, last operation and the exact response without including passenger records. ASCII and EBCDIC are the current coding choices; IPARS and padded Baudot are not implemented by this profile.

### Replacing an existing terminal client

For an InfoConnect for Airlines replacement, inventory each display, virtual printer and reader route before estimating the work. WND Terminal's synthetic workstation example uses its own test protocol. It does not establish IATA BTP, Epson AEA or completion on a physical boarding-pass or bag-tag device. Agree on those requirements explicitly and retain the existing workstation for any unproved peripheral workflow. Use the supplied ALC software-host example to establish a repeatable first connection, then prove the actual airline environment separately.
